TV show Fashion Star taps into hot retail market for NBC


NBC has found a new way to combine fashion, retail and advertising, and so far it’s working.



The reality show Fashion Star, which pairs young designers with celebrity mentors and showcases their work to major retailers, has tapped the network into the desirable market of urban women who go out and buy things. The show has generated hot-ticket designs for H&M, Saks and Macy’s.
